Airhopping pivots its business model and launches into car routes

Airhopping, the Valencian digital startup specializing in multi-destination reservations, is adapting its business model to the crisis caused by the Covid-19 in a sector that is experiencing its worst moment in the summer months. National tourism is, from now on, the new focus of Airhopping so that travelling in times of coronavirus is not an impediment for anyone, while contributing to the recovery of the country's economy.

After almost three months dedicated exclusively to offering help and advice to their customers on booking returns with the airlines, the need to turn the business around was vital to making their business model profitable and providing security to travellers. In the words of Carlos Montesinos, co-founder of Airhopping, "facing a situation like the current one when the main income comes from international flight reservations, is not easy for any company and it was time to look for solutions". The time of confinement has served for the young founders together with the rest of the team, to look for an alternative and dedicate part of their time to develop a business strategy that would open a new income channel.
